Hello Liam

I’m Alex. I only just joined the group just before you myself having recently solved the 3x3x3x3 on MC4D.
I live just across the Thames from you on Canvey Island in Essex just a few miles away.

I have been into cubing quite a lot the past couple of years though I solved the 3x3x3 over 20 years ago.
I solved it then left it, came back and had to relearn it and this happened a few times until I discovered MC4D
nearly 2 years ago. At first it was hard to do even the 2x2x2x2 but I beat that and then moved on to the 3x3x3x3 and recently beat that too. I stick mainly to platonic twistys and have done some large cubes and minxes and I find there’s new difficulties beyond rubiks revenge or the gigaminx just a few more repetitions of moves.

I come to the last piont- the 2 colour piece problem. there isn’t a parity on the 3x3x3x3 in the sense of that you get on the rubiks revenge. I use a different system to Roice’s you found on Superliminal - the LBL method and my move sequences are likely to differ too, I have’nt looked into his solution yet having wanting to find my own.
With the LBL method I can solve in around 800 moves or less.

In my move sequences there’s a couple that I use to fix the 2 colour pieces on the last face listed below.
Both sequences affect more than the 2 colour pieces but we’re only interested in the 2 colours here. The first
flips colours as well as move pieces and this allows you to turn them all one colour on the last face. The second just moves the pieces so you can get them into position. Try them on an unscrambled cube to see what they do more clearly. Though I have been using these moves with the LBL they can have a use with other solving methods too.
