That’s unfortunate, though I can’t say I’m surprised.

Melinda, your wiki settings do currently force one to make a user account to
make edits. So by looking at the recent changes
page<http://wiki.superliminal.com/wiki/Special:RecentChanges>,
I can see some of the offending accounts that were created for this round of
spamming. Banning them doesn’t seem like it would do much good if they can
just create new accounts. The only solution I can see would be to have a
policy like on the yahoo group, where new accounts don’t have edit rights
until initial contributions are reviewed. I have no idea if the wiki
software supports this, but it might. It’s sad it would be an increased
administrative burden, but it might still be the best option.
