Hi!

My name is Ty Jones and I’ve recently solved the Magic Cube 4D! It was a lot of fun and something I dreamed of one day being able to do (Turns out it wasn’t that bad! Especially thanks to the Mathologer ). I really enjoyed the puzzle and will likely solve it again, attempting to be more efficient with my turns. Looking forward to playing with the 5D puzzle soon!

A little about myself:

I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan USA, lived in St. Louis, Missouri USA for a few years, went to Michigan State University for astrophysics, worked for the government, returned to school for computer science and now work as a software engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah USA!

During my time at MSU I was a member of the cheerleading team that you see at basketball and football games as well as a member of MSU Science Theatre doing science outreach at local schools.

I consider myself to be a bit of a curator of interesting skills and can juggle, unicycle, and some gymnastics. I also play a lot of soccer, downhill ski, rock climb, skateboard, hike mountains, ping pong, recently some bike polo, and pretty much anything active that I can do! I also, of course, like playing with puzzles and own many of the twisty puzzles. My favorite being the standard 3x3 Rubik’s Cube.

I’m currently trying to reach all the high points in all the states of the US…though I’ve only got 4 at the moment (Utah, Colorado, Rhode Island, Massachusetts).
