Dear Cubists,
Just a note to let you know that I’ve just uploaded MC4D version 3.1.4
(or "Pi" for short) to the web site. This version integrates Don’s true
N-D solve function for the 2^4 and 3^4 puzzles in addition to the
original simple "undo" solve method. Note that it appears to have a bug
and doesn’t always work, especially for the 2^4. Moves on the 3^4
involving the middle slice (including rotations) seem to break it. I
therefore added a hack to the scramble method to only use slicemask = 1
twists so that it should always work for naive users who only use
scrambles plus simple left and right click twists on the 3^4, but
hopefully Don will fix it so that it will work in all cases.
This version also implements the "Quick Moves" option to skip move
animations which is particularly useful when performing lengthy computer
solutions. Note that you can even turn it on and off in the middle of
watching it solve the puzzle! There are also some small fixes and
enhancements to the display of ground and shadows.
Enjoy!
