Hey Remi,
Pink, Purple, and Violet were the ones that screwed me up too! I tried
to make the colors distinct, but that is sort of difficult since we need 10,
and I’m sure it could be better. What we can do is add this to the settings
file so that you can change it to your personal preference. I’m heading out
of town this weekend though, so unfortunately you will be stuck with the
current colors for a little longer :(
I really like your idea for a % completed meter. We could also perhaps base
it on solved cubies vs. solved stickers, but either way would give a good
impression of overall progress and be motivation to keep going. Actually, I
think I like your solved stickers suggestion better. Although you get an
inflated % for cubies that aren’t solved but have 1 or more stickers on the
correct face, it might be a better impression of overall progress by
giving more weight to 5-colored cubies than 2-colored ones, which I think is
appropriate. I guess it is a little weird that you would likely start off
with the meter around 10% complete, but you could argue the meter generated
by counting cubies should start off around 5% anyway (if your counting
included 0-colored and 1-colored cubies)…
